Bauchi-Unknown gunmen on Tuesday morning have reportedly killed two policemen guarding a Chinese mining firm at Magama Gumau village in Toro local government area of Bauchi State.

It was gathered that the slain policemen who were stationed at the gate of the company were attacked by the gunmen around 5 am in the morning.

Efforts to get details of the attack from local officials in the local government proved abortive as the company was far away in the bush from the local government.

It could be recalled that Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has earlier ordered the immediate closure of the Chinese mining firm because it was causing health hazards to communities in Toro local government.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi State police command, DSP Haruna Mohammed, told journalists that he was yet to get details of the attack.

“I am yet to get details of the attack, but as soon as I do, I will let you know, please,” he said
