As Nigerians celebrate the country';;s independence, the Olu of Itori Land Oba AbdulFatai Akorede Akamo joins in the celebration as he becomes 60 today.
His birthday drew the attention of royal fathers and mothers, politicians, the creme de la creme, friends, family members, well wishers and loved ones who came enmass to celebrate with him.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi accompanied by some of his Queens, in company of other Manarchs who also joined in the celebration was also in attendance.
The Monarch expressed gratitude to God who has kept him alive to see this day, and experience love from friends, and his subjects.
To kickstart the celebration, the Monarch had a birthday lecture where schools in Itori assembled together at the Kings palace for the lecture.
The lecture which focused on leadership had eulogies poured out to the King from various quarters.
Each school went with a gift of 10,000 each as an act of the King's benevolence.
Speaking on the state of the nation, Oba Akamo said he hopes things will get better, advising the Federal Government to involve the Monarchs in the policy making process that affect the nation and not seeking for their counsel only when the need arises.
He prides in the rejuvenation of the rail line that had been abandoned years ago, stating that in the next one year the line will be revived and Itori will open up to the world.
Indeed, his reign has brought development to Itori as the town now boosts of a tertiary institution amidst several primary and secondary institutions.
He mentioned his father refused the position of Baale years ago in Itori not knowing he would be King of Itori.
In his words: "Who am I, I'm noting without God."
