The Fastrack Emergency Rescue Operations Team (FERO) of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) had on Wednesday, rescued victims of a motorcycle related road crash along the Elewure Junction, Sango, Ibadan.

The agency carried out first aid on one seriously injured female victim before getting her to the hospital.

Spokesperson of the agency said through a statement made available to CEOAfrica that "preliminary investigations revealed the crash was caused by reckless and impatient driving on the part of the motorcycle riders which led to an unfortunate head-on collision of the motorcycles thereby inflicting serious injuries on a female passenger".

Recall that OYRTMA, under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Mogaji  Fagbemi, had earlier in an effort to reduce motorcycle-related crashes to its barest minimum, begun enforcement of the Operation One Passenger Policy as well as continuous safety advocacy programs on several platforms to educate the riders on practicable ways of eliminating road crashes across the State.

While imploring residents of the state to contact the agency on its different platforms, the agency equally showed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde for the procurement of a standard Ambulance which has aided operations of the Agency’s Rescue Operations since 2019.

“This had tremendously assisted the rescue team to safe lives of over 168 accident victims across the State”, the statement by the agency said.

The statement thereafter implored citizens to call on the agency for help in accident situations through its hotline: +2348114390097, Twitter: @oyrtma1 , Facebook  and Instagram, @officialoyrtma
