The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has confirmed the arrest of SGT Eze Aiwansone, the runaway officer accused of shooting his girlfriend, Joy Eze on 8th October, 2020, at Opebi Ikeja Lagos.

This was made known in a press release which was signed by Police Public Relation Officer PPRO, Lagos State Command, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi and was made available to CEOAFRICA.

Prior to the incident, Aiwansome was attached to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 16, Ikeja

Aiwansone who had been on the run was however arrested and handed over to the command by his elder brother who is an inspector of Police in Lagos State.

The case in accordance with the instruction of the Commissioner of Police Lagos, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has been handed over to the State CID Panti for further investigation.

The Commissioner however warned police personnel in Lagos State to desist from any act that may tarnish the image of the police. He further advised them to be committed to their duties and adhere to the principles of Community Policing for better service delivery and public safety in the state.
