The Ebonyi State House of Assembly majority leader, Victor Chukwu, has said the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) would be establishing unfairness and injustice if it denies the South-East its presidential ticket come 2023.

Chukwu, who represents Ezza North-West Constituency, said, the South-East geo-political zone had undoubtedly supported PDP since inception in 1999 and as such deserved to be rewarded for the loyalty.

The lawmaker said, “The consequences will be enormous if the PDP fails to zone its presidential ticket to the South-East.  I cannot go into specifics now, because I am not the leader of the party in the state. But I am certain that the losses or consequences will be severe and heavy.

“In the first place, the national leadership of the PDP would have established deceit, they would have established insincerity and they would have succeeded in establishing unfairness and injustice towards the zone.

“If they don’t heed to that call, part of the losses would be a reciprocation of dishonesty and injustice. This is because whatever they are going to sow, that is what they are going to reap from the zone, from now onwards.”

Responding to a question on why major political parties appeared unwilling to give their presidential tickets to the zone since 1999, Chukwu said, “I don’t see any reason why they have been doing this to the South-East zone.”
