President Donald Trump has expressed his gratitude to some Nigerians who held a walk for his reelection on Tuesday.
The US President on Tuesday tweeted an Election Day message of gratitude for a parade of supporters who waved Trump 2020 signs — in Nigeria.
“A parade for me in Nigeria, a great honor!” Trump tweeted.
Trump posted a video of Nigerians in large number in Onitsha, Anambra state in a street parade rooting for his re-election.
Trump tweeted the video as he urged black voters to back him instead of Democrat Joe Biden.
“Nobody’s done what I’ve done in terms of the African American community. And they see it. And they’re tired of being used by the Democrats for 100 years,” Trump told reporters Tuesdayafternoon at his campaign headquarters in northern Virginia.
There are believed to be about 300,000 Nigerian-born Americans.
A Pew poll last year found 58 percent of Nigerians had confidence in Trump doing the right thing inworld affairs.
Moments after tweeting the clip from Nigeria, Trump retweeted footage of five horse-drawn Amish buggies brandishing Trump flags.
The technology-averse religious community historically hasn’t voted in large numbers, but Republicans are optimistic they will turn out this year, especially in the swing state of Pennsylvania, where about 80,000 of them live.
The Amish footage had the rap song “Trump Is Your President” by Bryson Gray playing over it.
Meanwhile, some associates to the US President were seen praying for his reelection at the Oval Office. The President is currently in a keenly-contested election with Joe Biden who was the 47th Vice President of the US
Nigerian Christians believe that despite Trump’s rashness, God is using him to abolish homosexuality , lesbianism and abortion in the US, which the Barack Obama’s administration promoted widely.
