AIG Bashir Dabup Makama psc (Rtd) has been appointed as the Coordinator ” Operation Rainbow” Plateau State Security Outfit set up by Governor to enhance Federal Government of Nigeria vision of Community Policing.
The governor stated that the appointment took effect from October 2020.
He said he considered Makama fit for the job after considering his immense contributions in securing life and properties when he was in the Nigeria Police Force.
The governor called on Makama, to put his wealth of experience in ensuring effective Community Policing in the state.
It would be recalled that CEOAFRICA on 25th of September, 2020 unveiled AIG Makama’s meritorious years of service during his stay as a gallant police officer, through an audio-visual documentary tagged "Celebrating A Gallant Officer-The Pride of Africa”
The gallant retired but not tired Assistant Inspector General of Police who also confirmed his appointment to CEOAFRICA said, “I have decided to answer the call to serve humanity.”
While appreciating the Governor and the good people of Plateau State, AIG Makama Rtd emphasized the need for effective policing, according to him, Community Policing cannot be actualized without the co-operation of all citizens.
He said “I want to appreciate our governor for finding me worthy to coordinate the response team of the state Security outfit. Every crime is local, therefore, there is need to know every crime from the Community, with a sound of policing system, that understands the terrain of the locality”..
Makama was the former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone XI in charge of Osun, Ondo and Oyo states.
