All is set for the African Union Commissioner on Education, Professor Sarah Anyang Agbor, to speak at the 2ndConvocation Ceremony of Chrisland University, Abeokuta , Ogun State, scheduled to hold on 26th November 2020.
In a statement by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Mrs. Chinedum Peace Babalola, she said this year’s convocation will host quite number of dignitaries to grace the occasion; amongst whom are former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; the President of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comr. Qaudri Olaleye; Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin; the Chief of Staff to Ogun State government, Alhaji Shuaib Salisu, and a host of others.
Prof. Agbor, who is the key note speaker, shall shed light on the theme of the day; ‘Leadership, Sustainable Growth, a National Building in Africa: a Reflective Perspective”.
Former President Obasanjo is the Chairman of the occasion while the TUC president, Comrade Quadri Olaleye has been honoured as an ambassador of Chrisland University and a member of Chrisland Endowment Funds
“Chrisland University’s vision as an institution is to become a world class university through resources, science and technology and research in training leaders of a new generation,” the VC said.
The ceremony will begin on Wednesday November 25 with a thanksgiving service in the morning followed by Dinner/Cultural Night.
The Convocation Ceremony shall feature the award of first and higher degrees, and presentation of special awards and prizes.
