The Oyo State Police Command has debunked news currently trending online stating that policemen fired shots leading to injuries at Agodi gate area today morning.

The force rather clarifies that men of the Police Command got news of a clash between officers of the correctional service and bike men stationed at Agodi gate and moved to the scene to ensure that no laws were broken and that attempts were not made to attack the prison facility.

This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Oyo State Police Command, SP Gbenga Fadeyi and made available to CEOAFRICA.

The Force further stressed that no shots were fired by policemen at the scene.

The statement read,” Contrary to the currently trending news online, that police men fired shots leading to injury at agodi gate area this morning, the truth is that there was a clash between officers of the correctional service and bike men stationed at agodi gate, upon receipt of this information, police men as well as other security agencies moved to the scene to ensure there’s no breakdown of law and order that could lead to coordinated attack on the prison facility.
