Ahead of the 2015 general elections, a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has further reiterated his support for the second coming of President Goodluck Jonathan, assuring that his (Jonathan's) victory will be a walkover in 2015.

The former Governor while speaking at a rally of Labour Party in Odeda local government area of the state. He explained that the yet-to-be-declared second term ambition of President Jonathan is a right, which nobody could contest.

The LP chieftain while affirming that the support for the President was not negotiable said it is until 2019 before anybody could have a choice.

"President Jonathan, you know I have never deceived you, and I have been saying a lot of things about him, have you seen anything to the contrary? Who's that person that'll even contest with him? We have just five months to the election. They said he can't do it, he became the governor, he cannot do it, he became the vice president, and also the president for the first time but they said it was a necessity and that he cannot succeed. We did election in 2011 and he became the president.

"Now that he's going for second term, the hypocrites are at it again. Don't be deceived, the support for Jonathan not only in Ogun State but the South West is non-negotiable, and I think all of us without exception will support him as we play the game. It is Jonathan's right, when it is 2019 we can then sit down and think of the next game to play. I want to assure you that our support for Jonathan is unwavering, every other thing will be a walk over," he said.

On the rumoured plan by the party to merge with Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the former governor assured that the party will continue to negotiate and collaborate with other parties to ensure Jonathan's re-election and to defeat All Progressives Congress, APC in Ogun State.

"They said Labour Party is going into extinction, with what you're seeing today, can this go into extinction just like that? What happened is just a small thing, as we speak today, Labour Party has become a beautiful bride, everyone wants us to be with them and we are consulting and we are ready to collaborate with anyone, 2015 is not negotiable for Labour Party of Nigeria."

Hem however, took a swipe at Governor Ibikunle Amosun for allegedly destroying agricultural potential of Obafemi Owode local government, adding that the governor sold all the farm settlements put in place by his administration to neighbouring states.

He said, "When we got to power, God gave us energy to refurbish all the farm settlements established by the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo. We didn't stop at that because we recognised that agriculture is the mainstay of Odeda local government, we went ahead and established 14 different farm estates but unfortunately, instead of this government to do what they have to do, they started selling all our farmlands to other neighbouring states.”
