Oyo Police Arrest Indian Hemp Traffickers’

The Federal highway patrol of Oyo state Police command, on the 9th of September 2014 arrested a vehicle, Mazda bus with Registration No- KSF747XF, red in color around Guru Mahraj area of Ibadan conveying (fifty) 50 bags of weed suspected to be Indian Hemp and five occupants which included the driver, four was arrested and one at large.

 

The federal highway patrol team attached to the Oyo state command recorded a great success when they recovered (fifty) 50 bags of weed which was suspected to be Indian Hemp. According to the Federal Highway Patrol team, "we saw a vehicle carrying vegetables from Lagos road towards Ibadan, whereas, vegetable supposed to be convey from Ibadan to Lagos, that arose our suspicion" they said. However, while they approach the vehicle, one of the occupants fled to an unknown destination on sighting the Police, while the remaining four were apprehended with the exhibit. The vehicle was said to be loaded with vegetables to conceal the exhibit, disguising with vegetable.

 

The suspects whose names include; Ibrahim Dende, Moses Popoola, Muideen Adekunle, and Mary Fadebi the only female among them, confessed to the crime, confirmed that they were coming from imeko in Ogun State and heading to Oja-Oba in Ibadan.

 

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police Oyo state command, DCP Sam Okaula during a press briefing said the case would be transferred to the appropriate quarters for in-depth investigation and effort will be intensified to arrest the flee member, because no stone will be left unturned.
