The Federal University, Lokoja has appointed Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi as the new Vice Chancellor of the institution.

His appointment was announced on Friday afternoon by the Governing Council of the university.

Olayemi will take over from Angella Miri who is due for retirement.

The new Vice Chancellor, is a Professor of History from Nasarawa state University.

He is the current Deputy vice Chancellor in the university.
