Magistrate Richard Bassey during protest over 24 months unpaid salaries, collapsed on Tuesday at Governor';s office gate in Calabar.

It was reported the Deputy Governor of the state, Professor Ivara Esu, who drove by at the moment the magistrate collapsed did not stop to address the protesting Magistrates nor show concern to the collapsed Magistrate.

Solomon Abuo, speaking on behalf of the Magistrates, said that no government official had addressed them since the inception of the protest.

Solomon disclosed that, they have not received anything from the state government.

“As I speak we are still working. We will continue to protest until we are paid. This is our last resort,” he said.

However, Magistrate Bassey was immediately revived after taken to a hospital.
