Some suspected Gunmen have kidnapped the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Taraba State chapter, Peter Jediel.

Jediel, on Sunday about 1:12am, was abducted at his residence, Sunkani headquarters of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the gunmen shot sporadically to scare people in the neighbourhood before gaining entrance into Jediel’s house and took him to an unknown location.

Boniface Stephen, the younger brother of the NLC chairman, revealed that no contact has been made with the kidnappers.

The spokesman of Taraba Police Command, ASP Leha Reform, confirmed the incident and also said he said no contact was made with the abductors and the police have swung into action to rescue him.

“We received the news of abduction of the State chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress in Sunkani by unidentified gunmen and police have swung into action to rescue him” he stated.
