Former Vice President of Sierra Leone and a leading member of Sierra Leone APC party, Alhaji Sam Sumana, commended the Central Bank of Nigeria for its directive to other financial institutions to close cryptocurrency accounts and other digital assets.

The Sierra Leonean ex-Vice President has also encouraged other Central Banks in Africa to do likewise before criminals would take over Africa.

Sumana, in a statement issued yesterday from Freetown, commended the CBN and its Governor, Godwin Emefiele, for being courageous enough to take the decision

He stated that the policy will curtail the activities of terrorists and other criminals in the country.

Recall that CEOAFRICA reported that the Central on Friday, ordered other financial banks to close accounts with crypto currencies transactions.

The directive has spawned various reactions- some commended the action, while some castigated it.
