A chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party ( NNPP), Olusegun Bamgbose has described the plan of   former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a journey to hell what would make Fani-Kayode’s father shed tears in the grave.

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello on Wednesday claimed that Fani-Kayode had already joined APC after the former Minister told reporters that he had a fruitful discussion on how to move Nigeria forward during his meeting with Bello over the weekend.

Fani-Kayode on Wednesday denied the claim, saying he has not left the PDP.

However, Bamgbose has said Fani-Kayode, who is described as a light bearer is about to “sink into a dark abyss.”

He said disclosed on Thursday that “Fani-Kayode is about to destroy his political profile and reputation he has built over the years.

“He is about to take a decision that is capable of consuming his political empire. He is about to take a political step that may make his father shed tears in the grave.

“What a calamity. He is about to take the worst decision in his entire political career. His defection can be seen as one that has been in heaven but about to embark on a journey to Hell fire.

“His preparedness to join APC is a very destructive move. It will constitute a great disappointment to Nigerian youths.

“I’m aware they have promised to give him an appointment and possibly some cash, however one would have thought that he won’t have yielded to such temptation, that may destabilize his political hegemony.

“APC is like a beautiful coffin, but when it’s opened, it’s stinking. My simple advise to Fani – Kayode, if it’s not too late, is for him not to dare defect to APC, because frustration and disappointment await him.

“His political career is about to be buried. Let him not constitute himself as a political jobber. A man of principle is a man of worth. His movement to APC will certainly destroy his political worth. A word is enough for the wise.”
