Armed bandits have attacked Erena, a semi-urban town in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, killed one person and abducted six others.

The attack happened on Friday night.

A source in the community disclosed that the town was one of the few in the Lakpma axis of Shiroro LGA that had not successfully been attacked or invaded.

He said, “These criminals attack their victims at will without any hindrance, resistance, or confrontation from the authorities concerned. Sadly, defenseless, unarmed, and peaceful locals have been abandoned to their fate, wallowing in perpetual agony.”
