Chrisland University VC mourns Ariba's death, pays condolence visit to family

The Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. (Mrs.) Chinedum Peace Babalola, and other members of staff of the institution have paid a condolence visit to the family of late Gbenga Ariba.

Gbenga Ariba, who was a broadcaster and lecturer at the department of Mass Communication, Chrisland University, died on Wednesday, 10th of March, 2021 at the age of 66 years.

Prof. Babalola described Ariba as “a gentleman par excellence who worked assiduously, serving in various capacities in Chrisland University.”

She acknowledged the great impact and successes the deceased achieved before passing on.

 

 “Ariba’s death was a rude shock,” she stated.

The VC, thus, urged the family of the deceased to take the situation surrounding the death of the deceased as a “will of God”.

The University Chaplain, Rev Juwon Onasaya however led prayers for the deceased family.

Jibola Ariba, son of Gbenga Ariba, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and members of staff for the visit, adding that the death left the family in shock.

It was gathered that Late Gbenga Ariba joined the department of Mass Communication in Chrisland University on 23rd September 2017, nurturing the budding Department to the enviable heights it has attained today.

 He was a foundation member of the department.

He worked diligently, serving in various capacities in the University.

He served as the Head of Media Unit/PRO of the University and he was appointed as Coordinator of the Department in November, 2018.
