A Kenya-based Tanzanian cartoonist has painted the Tanzanian former President John Pombe Magufuli, a devout Catholic, from being halted from entering heaven by an angel.

According to the cartoonist on twitter, when late Tanzanian president John Pombe Magufuli arrived at Heaven';s gate and came face to face with an angel, the angel told him: "I';m afraid you can';t be allowed in without a mask!"

Mr Magufuli had earlier called for prayers and herbal-infused steam therapy to counter COVID-19.

He also mocked the efficacy of masks.
