ROBBERY: Police Recover 39 Stolen Vehicles, Parade Suspects

Kano State Police Command have recovered 39 vehicles that were stolen at gun point in the state.

The state Police Commissioner, Alhaji Adenrele Shinaba, at a news conference, said that police in the state had re-strategized to combat crime.

He said the efforts of his men led to the arrest of 37 armed robbery suspects and that while 22 were already charged to court for prosecution, 15 are still undergoing interrogation.

“We recovered 2 AK 47 rifles with 24 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and 2 magazines. We also recovered one English pistol with 7 rounds of .9mm live, 8 locally made pistols with 17 cartridges, one pump action and one dane gun and about N236,000,00 cash”, Shinaba enumerated.

He stated that last month, one Ibrahim Gidado Mukhtar of Nassarawa GRA, reported to Bompai police that his Peugeot car was snatched along Race Course road by two people in army uniform. He said that the police have recovered the vehicle in Kaduna and arrested the suspects.

In a related development, the CP confirmed that three suspects were arrested in connection with criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, dishonesty, receiving stolen goods, impersonation, aiding and abetment of crime and possession of motor vehicles, particulars and 32 different motor vehicles’ number plates.
