Members of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors have commenced nationwide strike despite the signing of Memorandum of Action with the Federal Government on Wednesday.

The resident doctors, on Thursday morning, disclosed the commencement of their nationwide strike via the association’s Twitter handle @nard_nigeria.

The tweet reads: “Nigerians must understand that we love them and the strike is not intended to hurt them but to challenge the Nigerian government @MBuhari @Fmohnigeria @LabourMinNG whose responsibilities amongst others is to care for her citizens and labour force to do the needful.”

Dr Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, NARD President, also confirmed to Channels TV that the strike had commenced by 8am on Thursday.
