South-West Governors to grace 2021 Joint Annual Research Review

The Joint Annual Research Review and 33rd South-West Research Extension Farmers Input Linkage System (REFILS), which is slated to begin on Monday 26th of April and ends on Friday, 30th of April 2021, is to be graced by the presence of South-West Governors.

The South-West Governors- Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Executive Governor, Ekiti State; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor, Lagos State; Prince Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor, Ogun State; Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Executive Governor, Ondo State; Gboyega Oyetola, Executive Governor, Osun State - who are as well stakeholders of the programme, will be hosted by The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

The first female Executive Director of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Prof Veronica Obatolu in a chat with CEOAFRICA said that all is set for the much-awaited event which will take place at Prof. E.A Adebowale Training Hall, IAR&T, Ibadan, Oyo State. She used the medium to call on all stakeholders to be part of the event  by joining online or physical.

Hon. Mohammed Sabo Nanono, Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development and Prof. Garba H. Sharubutu, Acting Executive Secretary, Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) Abuja, are the Special Guests of honour.    

The 5-day event would have Dr. Debo Akande, the Director General of Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), speak on the topic “Agricultural Research and Entrepreneurship for Poverty Alleviation”, and Dr. Adetunji Oredipe (World Bank) to speak on “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture, Food Security and Sustainable Wealth Creation amidst COVID-19 and Social Conflicts.’

The Chief Host and Host of the occasion are Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Prof Veronica Obatolu, Executive Director IAR&T, respectively.
