APC Releases Time Table For Primaries

Five months before the 2015 general elections hold in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has released the timetable for the nomination of candidates for elective offices on its platform.

According to the timetable made public on Monday, 22 September, 2014, the APC would hold its governorship and presidential primaries on 15 November and 2 December 2, 2014 respectively.

The party’s national convention is also expected to take place on 2 December, 2014, while the expression of interest forms for all offices will go on sale as from 6 October, 2014.

It was also gathered that those interested in seeking the party’s nomination to stand in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and state Houses of Assembly elections are expected to pick their forms between 6-19 October, 2014.

Meanwhile, the sale of nomination forms for presidential aspirants will commence on 20 October and end on 6 November, 2014, while the screening of aspirants has been slated for between November 10 and 13. November 14 and 15 are for appeals.

The sale of nomination forms for those interested in the governorship race is slated for between 20 October and 9 November, 2014, while the screening of aspirants will hold as from 10-12 November, 2014 and appeals slated for 13-14 November, 2014.

The party’s governorship primaries is to hold on Saturday, 15 November , 2014 while appeals emanating from the primaries will be entertained as from November 18 to 22, 2014.

The sale of nomination forms for senatorial aspirants will begin on 20 October and end on 17 November, 2014, while their screening will hold between November 19 and 20, 2014.

Also appeals emanating from the conduct of the screening exercise will be entertained on 24 and 25 November, 2014.

Senatorial primaries will hold on 29 November and appeals will be entertained between 1-2 December, 2014.

The sale of nomination forms for House of Representatives is scheduled to commence on 20 October and end on 16 November, 2014, while screening of aspirants will start on 17 November and end 19 November 19, 2014.

Appeals will begin from 20 November and end on 21 November, 2014 while primaries will hold on 24 November. Appeals emanating from the primaries will be entertained between November 25 and 26.
