Wednesday, 2nd June 2021: Micro-blogging site, Twitter Wednesday deleted Tuesday controversial tweet of Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, threatening genocide against some perceived ‘enemies of his government’.

This is coming after a wide range of Nigerians on social media lambasted the President and demanded from the owner of the respected and popular micro-blogging site, Twitter, Jack Dorsey to remove the offensive comment.

CEOAFRICA checked Buhari’s twitter handles and discovered that the controversial comment has since been removed.

According to Twitter: “Tweet is no longer available”

Recall that President Buhari had while speaking during a meeting with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, and residents electoral commissioners from the states in the federation, threatened to deploy his civil war experience to deal with those destroying and burning government properties.

The threat was seen as another form of Buhari’s plans to institute another genocide on the people of the South east as it was done during the country’s civil war between 1967 and 1970.

A cross section of Nigerians who described Buhari’s comments as genocidal reminded the President that he should have done that to the rampaging bandits abducting, maiming and killing innocent Nigerians even in his home state of Katsina, and other bandits abducting schoolchildren at will demanding ransom in virtually all parts of Nigeria under his watch as Commander in chief of the armed forces.
