Osun Police Command nabs ritualist with butchered body parts in Apomu

Friday, 11th June 2021: The Osun state command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested a suspected ritualist, Kabiru Oyeduntan, with human body parts in his custody.  

According to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale T. Olokode, who addressed the press in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, on Friday where he paraded the 40-year old ritualist with butchered body parts of a suspected lady of about 20 years of age said credible intelligence gave the criminal out.

Oyeduntan, who is of Moninun compound, Ikoyi was arrested upon credible information and intelligence led policing which gave the criminals out where the nefarious activity was carried out.

 

The police boss did not however explain whether Kabiru Oyeduntan committed the crime alone or in the company of fellow ritualists but said he would be charged to court after investigation.

According to him, “On 10/06/21 at about 9pm, upon credible information and intelligence led policing that some ritualists beheaded an unknown lady at quarry area of Apomu.


“A team of police operatives in collaboration with the local security outfits swiftly moved into action and arrested one, Kabiru Oyeduntan ‘m’ aged 40 years of Moninun compound ,Ikoyi with the butchered body parts of a suspected lady of about 20 years of age.”


The CP added that the police having critically looked at the severed body parts observed that some body parts are missing, adding that the police subsequently extended investigation and conducted search today (Friday) 11/6/21 at the house of the suspected killer and recovered the head, wrist and other parts of the severed body not found inside a box in one of the rooms of the suspect.


“The suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation,” he added


CP Olokode had on June 9th briefed the press to showcase some of the achievements of the Osun state command under his watch where he reiterated that the command would continue to work tirelessly to ensure the state is free from all kinds of criminal elements.
