Thursday- 8th July, 2021: Mourners have turned up in huge numbers to view the body of influential Nigerian preacher TB Joshua, who died last month at the age of 57.

He is lying in state at his Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos where he will be buried on Friday.

Funeral rites began with a candlelight procession on Monday and there was a service of tributes on Tuesday.

TB Joshua was one of Nigeria's most popular televangelists but was perhaps the least flamboyant of his peers.

His rise to prominence in the late 1990s coincided with the explosion of "miracle" programmes performed on national TV by various pastors.

TB Joshua was often mocked for lacking the finesse of his colleagues during "deliverance" sessions - an intense prayer that resembles exorcism.

His ministry has attracted people from all over the world and also claimed to heal all manner of illnesses including HIV/Aids.
