Wednesday- 11th August, 2021: The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) is set to celebrate her 40th anniversary celebration and Annual National Scientific Conference in the ancient city of Abeokuta.
The Conference is scheduled to hold from 30th August -4th September, 2021, at the Conference Hotel, Presidential Boulevard, 1 Golf resort drive OkeMosan, Abeokuta, Nigeria.
The theme of the Conference is 'Abuja Declaration: Equipping Community Pharmacists for Universal Health Coverage.'
The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun is the Special Guest of Honour and will be among the prominent dignitaries at the 40th anniversary celebration and Annual National Scientific Conference.
His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde, (Ooni of Ife) is the Royal Father of the day, Dr. (Mrs.) Dere Awosika , Chairman of Access Bank plc is the Chairman opening ceremony , the Keynote Speech will be delivered by Prof Lere Baale FSPN, CEO Business School Netherlands Int. Ng, Pharm. Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, National President of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria is theChief Host of the Conference while Dr. Samuel O. Adekola, National Chairman is the Host for the historic event and many other dignitaries from all walks of life will be at the conference.
The ACPN national conference is a platform where policies affecting the practice of Community Pharmacy in Nigeria arediscussed and directions given to contemporary and future developments in the pharmacy Profession as they affect Community Pharmacists and their practice.
It is the prime exhibition ground for existing, novel and emerging products and molecules by pharmaceutical manufacturers, importers, pharmaceutical scientists and researchers.
In an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA, the National Chairman of ACPN, Dr.Samuel O. Adekola, revealed that the conference will have as part of the activities to unveil, about 200 pharmacists who have been trained and certified for provision of vaccination in their pharmacies across
Nigeria.
He also revealed the launching of the 2020-2025 Community Pharmacists Section of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) which will be done by the President of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), Pharm Dominique Jordan.
Speaking further, Dr Adekola revealed that in recognition of their meritorious service and unique contribution to the Nigerian projects and supportfor Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) anAssociation of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (APCN) by extension, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo , former President of Nigeria will lead other distinguished personalities such as ; the Prince of Pharmacy, Prince Julius Adelusi Adeluyi; Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye and others
