World Teachers’ Day: Adeniran Celebrates Oyo Teachers

As world celebrates the 2021 World Teachers’ Day, the Oyo State Government has taken the pedestal to celebrate and applaud teachers in the state for their steadfastness and dedication in ensuring quality education disseminated to the future generation.

This was released in a statement signed by the by the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, today in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. 

Dr. Adeniran recognized the contributions of the teachers in the state while attributing it to aiding the overall growth and development of the state’s Education Sector. He further added the teachers had done a great job in ensuring the growth of the younger generation, who are the future of the nation, and the world at large.

In his words, “we commend our teachers, who have been performing well in the State. This is being measured by the performance of our students both in the Internal and External Examinations, National and International Competitions. 

We urge them to put in more effort, take their jobs very seriously and stay committed because they remain the mirror with which students view themselves". 

Speaking further, he reiterated the commitment of the sitting governor of the state Engr. Seyi Makinde led administration to the welfare of teachers. Saying that the administration would focus on key areas such as training and re-training, prompt payment of salaries and conducive environment for teaching and learning in public schools. 

He further commended the Executive Governor of the State, Governor Seyi Makinde on his effort in the recent recruitment of 5,000 Teachers into the Teaching Service Commission, adding that the Primary Sector also awaits his approval for recruitment of teachers. He stated that the recruitment exercise in the Education sector will improve the quality of teaching and learning in the State's Public schools.

Adeniran therefore called on teachers in the state to not relent in their effort, and commit themselves to the delivery of premium service in the state, while ensuring that the young ones are instilled with the right morals.

The chairman further added that the ongoing UBEC/SUBEB Intervention Projects in the State are part of the current administration’s commitment to ensure the wellbeing of teachers and students.
