The Chairman, Taraba State Council of Chiefs, and the Aku Uka of Wukari, Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa-Ibi (Kuvyon II) is confirmed to have died.
According to reports, the paramount ruler in the early hours of today, Sunday, 10th October joined his ancestors at the age of 84 years.
Reports gathered also states that the ruler died at his palace this morning.
A source who prefers to remain anonymous also confirmed this. According to the source, "“Yes, the Aku Uka is dead, but traditional rites are ongoing and later in the day, the State government will make a formal statement to that effect.”
The late ruler was the Chancellor of the Federal University Dutse, before he became King in 1976 as a second-class king. He was   later upgraded to a first-class status during his reign in 1982.
Dr. Shekarau Angyu Masa Ibi held two honorary Doctorate degrees, and a Commander of the Order of Niger. He was also the former Chancellor of Federal University Technology Owerri.
He was the 27th Aku Uka of Kwararafa and the 13th since the founding of the Wukari.
