Eid-el Kabir: IGP directs AIGs, CPs on effective security

Ahead of today’s Eid-el Kabir celebration the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, has directed zonal AIGs and states’ Commissioners’ of Police, CPs, to put up an effective and extensive security measures to forestall any breach of security in any form.

The IGP also ordered his lieutenants to deploy enough personnel as well as all necessary logistics, to all nooks and crannies of the country to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

Similarly, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Dr. Ade Abolurin has directed the zonal and state commands of the Corps to adequately deploy their personnel to strategic places such as federal highways, Praying grounds and gathering places, not excluding black spots, where criminal elements hibernate.

Abolurin stressed that, the Corps is committed to laboring for the law-abiding citizens to be at peace. He reiterates that, both Muslims and Christians are one, therefore, all hands must be on deck in tackling the problem of insecurity bedeviling the society, as no religion preaches violence.

In a press statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, the police boss, on behalf of the entire workforce of the Nigeria Police Force, extended his hearty greetings to all Muslims in Nigeria.

Civil Defence PRO, Emmanuel O Okeh in a statement made available to Nigerian Pilot said Dr. Abolurin felicitated with Mr. President, the Vice President and Muslim Faithful’s across the globe, the Corps Chief Executive stated that apart from the deployment of regular and volunteer personnel, the Corps  has deployed some specialised Units such as the Special forces, Counter-Terrorism Unit; Nuclear, Biological Chemical and Radio-Active Squad; surveillance vehicles and sniffer dogs for the purposes of sniffing out combustive chemicals and other dangerous compound substances used in creation of bombs and IEDs.

He encouraged the Faithfull’s to see the period as an opportunity to pray for the unity of Nigeria and to ask for forgiveness of sins in line with the teachings of Prophet Mohammed.

Abolurin assures the citizens of effective Security coverage across nooks and crannies as all Security Forces have worked out modalities and strategised on adequate deployment of their personnel.
