TUESDAY- 12th October, 2021: The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan Oyo state, Nigeria held its convocation ceremony for 2012/2013 till date on the 12th of October 2021 at the Dr K.J. Nwufoh Hall of the institution.
CEOAFRICA media team was live at the colourful event which had several important dignitaries including, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, represented by the Regional Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture Oyo State,Mrs Omolara F. Oguntuyi ,Honorable Members of the Governing Council of the Institution, other invited Provost’s and College Heads, Provost of FCAH&PT,Ibadan, Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo,Staff and Students ‘past and present’ in attendance.
The Provost of the Institution, Dr Owosibo in his opening speech gave a brief history of the College which started its operation on the 1st of April 1964 to meet the needs of technicians and farmers adding that it currently runs Ordinary National Diploma(OND) in Animal Husbandry, Higher National Diploma(HND) in different courses and now has 14 different programs.
He added that the college also operates affiliated program with three international universities and three National universities.
Dr Owosibo advised the graduating students to be of good behavior, put in their best in all their doings and always represent the college positively while urging them to put into practice all what they learnt in the college.
The representative of the Minister of Agriculture Dr. Mrs Omolara Oguntuyi implore the student to believe in integrity, hard work and to be entrepreneurs,reminding them that White collar job is not for everyone.
Dr Omolara thanked parents for believing in Education and Agriculture by sending their children to school.
Chairman of the College governing board Prof. Vincent Odigbe represented by his Vice, Olori Yemisi Adewole in her address said she was happy to witness the 1st convocation ceremony of the College with reference to the fact that it happened in their time as the first governing council of the college.
She congratulated the graduating students for coming this far . The Miniter representative thanked the academic staff for their support and impact in the life of students and to their parent who made it possible for them to be called graduates.
Adewole Further adviced graduands to harmonize the skill they acquired in the school to start a business, urging them to be creative in their own little way, diligent in all their doings, hardworking and be good ambassadors of the school anywhere in the world.
Highlights of the memorable event was the presentation of prizes to the Best Graduating Student (part time-full time ) Per Department 2012-2013 till date ,Overall Best Graduating Student (part time-full time)2012-2013 till date
Dignitaries who graced the occasion includes, Chairman Governing Council Federal College of animal health and technology, Prof. Vincent Odigbe, represented by the Vice Chairman Olori Yemisi Adewole, Executive Director Institute of Agricultural Research & Training Prof. Veronica Obatolu, Provost Federal College of Agriculture Akure, Dr. A.A Fadiyimu, President of the Alumni Dr. Femi, First Director and Provost of the FCAH&PT. Dr. Moshood Ademola, Executive Secretary Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria Prof. Garba Hamidu Sharubutu represented by Dr. Gaberiel Malomo, Deputy Director Institute of Agricultural Research & Training Dr. Saka Jelili, Ag Director of National Horticultural Research Institute Dr. Ephraim Nwaguma respresented by Dr Olagoirte Adetula, all Head of Departments(H.O.D), Dean of Faculties, Teaching and none teaching Staffs.
