Criminal investigations department of the Enugu state police command is investigating the circumstances under which a young man by name Uchechukwu Ugwuozor allegedly stabbed her biological mother, Mrs Eunice Ugwuozor to death on Thursday, October 2, at their family home at Ubiekpo Abor, in Udi council area.
A source told Nigerian Pilot that the suspect committed the gruesome murder of her mother on the fateful day about 5 am, while she was still fast asleep. “He stabbed her to death and fled the house to an unknown destination”, the source said.
The Enugu state police public relations officer, PPRO, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the story in his press statement yesterday. He disclosed that the suspect has also been apprehended by the police at his hide out, stating there were allegations from the family that the suspect had suffered psychological problems in the recent past.
The Enugu state police command image maker further disclosed that the body of late Mrs Ugwuozor has been deposited at Our Saviour hospital mortuary, located at 9th Mile corner, Ngwo near Enugu while police investigation continued.
