One person was reported to have died in an accident which occurred last Wednesday at a refugee camp in Dowa district, Malawi.

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the 26 year-old man, who was identified as Innocent Chijinji of Butali province, Rwanda died when he was accompanying the driver, Joseph Sazimana, 44, from Butali province, Rwanda to the refugee camp where he eventually lost his life.

While confirming the incident, Dowa Police Public Relations Officer Richard Kaponda said,      ” The driver, Joseph Sazimana, was driving a motor vehicle registration number DA 3201, a seven-tonner truck. The vehicle which had four passengers on board carried dambo sand. While standing in the carriage at the back of the truck, the deceased was talking to the driver. However, when the vehicle reached Blantyre location within Dzaleka refugee camp, the driver wanted to negotiate a corner and this forced the deceased to fall off the truck and the back tyre crashed his head and died on sport”.
