A 24 hour ultimatum has been issued to motorist by the Imo State Government, led by Governor Hope Uzodinma, at Government House/Okigwe, Warehouse/Orlu road to vacate the area.

The vacation notice was issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser/General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Engr. Francis Chukwu, shortly after moving round illegal motor parks in Owerri Metropolis with the state Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Barr. Rex Anunobi.

Chukwu said the closure of the illegal parks in the capital city has become imperative considering the need to ensure total sanity that conforms to the urban and urbanization program of the 3R administration of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.

The notice issued by the OCDA boss and signed by his media aide, Iheanyi Enwerem, further reads, “Motorists loading at Government House/Okigwe road were directed by State Government to relocate to a location at Amawire Orji, those operating at Warehouse/Orlu road will relocate at Egbeada market.

“Motorist loading at Control post will relocate to an open space at hospital junction Owerri-Port Harcourt road.”

Recall that Chukwu recently embarked on a sensitization campaign “Operation remove illegal parks, shanties” in Owerri capital city, last year December.
