Kwara State Governor Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has identified commercial agriculture as the best approach to solving the challenges of youth unemployment and insecurity.

Ahmed stated this during the fifth graduation of the Youth Integrated Training Farm Centre, Malete in Moro Local Government of the state on Wednesday.

The governor stressed that the people of the state, especially youths, must take advantage of the vast arable land and government’s agric business friendly policies to generate employment opportunities.

He explained that centres like the Malete Youth Farm were critical for providing youths with required technical skills in agric business.

He added, “Over the last two years, we have supported the farm with over n100m for its capital projects and to upgrade and rehabilitate its infrastructure, repair all light and heavy equipment among other critical interventions.

The governor also said he had approved the review of the centre’s curriculum in order to improve its quality of training and to face future challenges.
