As general election, 2023 is fast approaching, Nigerians called for new direction and different leader as #WHYGEJ trends on Twitter social media platform.

Following the trend, @mpiredivine tweeted, “As much as I voted for GEJ over Buhari, that doesn't make it okay for him to come back to Power. We need a new direction and a different leader. Nobody should come to me with this #WHYGEJ nonsense biko.”

CEOAFRICA gathered the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonatan with the harsh tag #WHYGEJ currently trends on twitter as some of his achievements have been projected, ‘From 2007 to 2013, allocation to education almost tripped from N224billion, among other efforts towards improved access to education in Nigeria.’

It was also said that before Jonathan left office, CBN money projected that Nigeria’s economy in 2015 would become the third fastest growing economy in the world at 7 percent behind China at 7.1 behind Quatar. Also, Jonathan Administration established 12 new Federal Universities to increase access to quality Tertiary education and ensure that each State has a Federal University.

Meanwhile, as some Twitter users advocate for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with his achievements, noting that GEJ emboldens character, grace, class and he is a man of the people.

While on the hand, others injected. @Boluwatife781, “Nigerians never learn, we are still repeating the same mistake. Most people voted Buhari because of his past records of dealing with corruption when he was president during the military rule and as of today we have never experienced corruption at its peak like we’ve.”

@gannycoz, “Well, With Nigeria divided politically, religiously and culturally and the National Assembly at a standstill due to hyper-partisan warfare, the 2023 election offers voters a chance to choose a different direction.”

@Ebben_best, “I'm sorry and not sorry, if you are discussing another GEJ presidency, you've got brain injury.”

However, it was known to CEOAFRICA that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for President in the forthcoming election insinuates that he is coming to complete not just a tenure but to add to his numerous achievements and also complement the good governance he is known for as Group vows to purchase his presidential ticket.
