The Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in collaboration with Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) is set to hold a day workshop training to orientate farmers on best practice for cashew along the value chain.
The training is scheduled to hold tomorrow, April 12th at Ogbomoso Produce Buyer House, oko road, Ago Area, Ogbomoso, Oyo State as Cashew farmers are expected to be at the venue on or before 8am.
Speaking with the CRIN Executive Director, Dr Patrick Adebola, noted that the training in collaboration with NEPC is a channel for Cashew farmers to gain knowledge and improve better on cashew plantation and harvesting.
The Cashew plantation is one of the CRIN’s research development goals, from which a variety of cashew called Brazilian Jumbo was created.
The Brazilian Jumbo is a breed whose nuts develop in a year, in variance to the local variety, which matures after 5years.
