The Community of iresaadu trooped out to welcome the Oyo State Commissioner of Police CP A.K Shodipo to the community at the Iresaadu divisional headquarters on 21st October

2014 during his familiarization tour in Oyo state.

The CP in his opening address appeal to the Police community relation committee (PCRC) representatives to maintain peace because there is no perfect community. "if there is anything you want us to improve on, let me  or the DPO know about it.

"I came to Oyo state to fight crime and criminality and am sure I will definitely Succeed with your help" the CP assures the community.

However His Royal Highness Oba Jimoh Oyeyemi Oloyede Aresaadu of Iresaadu acknowledged the CP visit, "I am very glad to receive you and I pray my ancestors will always guide and protect you, where God's presence will not go with you, you will never be there." He prayed for the CP stay in Oyo State.

Furthermore, Hon. Aworinde Lasisi Awodele, the caretaker chairman of Surulere Local Government Iresaadu appreciated the CP for his love and concern for the people of Oyo State and he prayed for God continual support upon his life and his stay in Oyo State.

" The strength of our policemen here is not enough for Orire Community, the Community has provided a police post for policemen , all we await is for policemen to be deployed to the post" Onikoyi of Ikoyi said. Furthermore, he stated that robbers are terrorizing the community because the man power is not enough.

The PCRC representatives of Ikoyi Community implore the CP to provide more police post at strategic places to enhance peace and security in the area.

"Our police are doing well, the cooperation here is great, we have never regretted partnership with them" PCRC representative Ajaawa division confessed to the CP.

The CP assure them all that they will definitely get answer to their request, "that is what i have come to do, to know your pains and know how we can be of help" he said.

 

In another development Oyo state commissioner of police CP Kola Shodipo as part  his familiarization tour to Ogbomosho on 20th of October 2014 visited   Ogbomosho Area Command, the divisions under the command and also paid homage to the kings (Oba's).

In a welcome address delivered by Alhaji M.A. Aremu Apalara, Chairman Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) Ogbomosho Area Command welcome the Oyo state Commissioner of police to Ogbomosho. "There is no gainsaying in telling you that we are enjoying the maximum cooperation of our Area Commander ACP Sylva Chinedu, he has been working tirelessly to see that all the nine divisions under the command are calm”, the PCRC Chairman said.

According to the Soun of Ogbomosho land, Oba Olawumi Ajagungbade III, he appreciated the CP for his kind gesture, and he was happy to receive him. "The police are really trying their best but they need more man power to be more effective in their duties" Soun said.

“Lecture your men to stay clear of land matters because it is not their duty to do so" Soun advice CP Sodipo.

 Oyo state Commissioner of Police stated in his speech that he has come to formally announce his arrival in Oyo State Command, and to give honour to whom is due. The CP promise the Soun that he will let the Oyo state governor know their plight.

According to the Onpetu of isero land of Ogbomosho south east, Oba Sunday Oladapo Otediran in his palace said, i will not withdraw the support i have been giving to the police, we are peace loving people, and he therefore prayed for the CP that peace will continue to reign in Oyo state as a whole.

"We need more man power here, if there is no adequate security, all we do will be  meaningless" Oba Samuel Adegboyega Osunbade Adeyelu II, Olugbon of Orile-igbon said. He therefore implore the CP to post more men to Orile-igbon.

However the Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Mr. Adeniyi Gbadegeshin outlined the major problems the school is facing which include that the school is non-residential University and also the only university owned by two state which include Osun and Oyo state. "Because it is non-residential University, the student lives around the community and this police has been trying to curb them from social vices, the Ogbomosho Area command has been working tirelessly to maintain peace among our student and the community" VC said.

CP Sodipo assures them all that their request will be considered as priority, and they should never hesitate to tell him of the police shortcomings, not to scold them but to give room for correction.
