CEOAFRICA.com gathered from Colombia that 13 Soldiers lost their lives in an attack recently by FARC rebels.

The attack, which was the second incident of its kind in two months, was also followed by the kidnapping of a U.S soldier, after he entered Colombia.

Reacting to the incidents, Colombian Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon criticized the killing and kidnapping.

"This organization had promised not to kidnap and they kidnapped an ordinary citizen. It is absurd that they continue abusing with promises that, it seems, continue to be false."

Our source disclosed that the rebel group is the longest-running insurgent rebel in South America because they have been in existence since 1960s. There was a time when an area was ceded to them in Colombia, but the then government recovered the place from them because they wanted to gain control of more territories in the country.
