Jonathan Condoles With Zambians On Sata's Death

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday said he received with sadness, news of the passing away of President Michael Sata of Zambia in a London Hospital Tuesday.

On behalf of the federal government and Nigerians, Jonathan extended sincere condolences to the government and people of Zambia.

In a statement by his spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati, the president said his deepest sympathies were with the people of Zambia and President Sata’s family as they mourn their leader, patriarch, and nationalist.

Jonathan noted that late Sata, whom he described as a patriot, would always be remembered for his uncompromising stand against neo-colonialism and any semblance of renewed imperialism in Zambia and Africa as a whole.
