The family of the City of David Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Oniru, Lekki, Lagos state, yesterday, 8th September, 2022, organised service of songs in memory of Late Mrs Uchechi Okoli, a former Assistant General Manager, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, who slept in the Lord on 4th July, 2022.
The service, which took place at the parish, witnessed many dignitaries from wide spectrum where the deceased positively impacted during her earthly sojourn.
In the tributes rendered by close associates, the Late Uchechi was described as a rare, cheerful and lovely person, who will be terribly missed, especially for her committed service to the family and the community at large.

Decrying the demise of the ex Mortgage Bank’s boss, the officiating pastor extolled her commitment to the work of God, describing her as one that was never found wanting.
According to the cleric, “She put her best in all her service and always ensured new converts were followed up for a fruitful Christian life.”
He went further to thank family and friends who he said were at hand during the trying moment that culminated into her death, consoling everyone that Mrs Uchechi Okoli died fulfilled as a Christian, who definitely has her place in the eternal book of life.
Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola, Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University and immediate elder sister to the deceased, while speaking to CEOAFRICA, described her late sister as the star gem of the family. She extolled the many roles the deceased played for the family.

Babalola said “She was very vibrant, active, energetic and always healthy. She was so kind and this really endeared her to people everywhere.”
The demise of her sister, she said, is a great loss for the family to bear. The bereaved husband of Uchechi Okoli, Commodore Edmund Okoli (Rtd), reminisced how the romantic affairs started 34 years ago in Port Harcourt and lauded her immeasurable love and devotion to the family, which, he said, made the home lovely, peaceful, attractive and inseparable.
Pastor Ngozi Njoku, pastor-in-charge of St. John the Evangelist, Wembley, London, a close childhood friend of Late Mrs Uchechi Okoli, described her as one who lived life in the way of God.
“She was always beaming with smiles and never contended or competed with anyone. She left the legacy of prayers and hospitality which we should all emulate,” she added.
Also commenting at the solemn service, Ven. Olufemi Babalola, Vicar, St Stephen Anglican Church, Inalende, Ibadan, who is  married to the deceased’s sister, Prof. Chinedum Babalola, enumerated her uncommon virtues as a gem of great traits, who was the rallying point in the family because of her unique patience.

Late Mrs Uchechi Okoli is survived by her father, husband, children, sisters, brother, uncles, aunties, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
