The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday intercepted 12 pump-action guns and 374 cartridges in Kogi.
The State Commandant, Abdulkadir Abdullahi-Fakaie who disclosed this during a press conference noted that two people have been taken into custody in connection with the firearms and ammunition.
Abdullahi-Fakai said they were discovered at a NDLEA checkpoint on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja road.
The suspects, Sagir Isiyaka and Bello Shehu Usman were traveling in a J5 Boxer Bus from Onitsha to Abuja.
“When asked about how they came about such dangerous arms and ammunition, they couldn’t give any cogent reason”, Abdullahi-Fakai said.
The Commandant added that the case has been transferred to the Police Command in Kogi for further investigation.
