Army boss hails Commanders, Troops over Operational successes against Terrorist

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Farouk Yahaya, has commended the Nigerian Army field commanders and troops for their operational successes in various theatres of operation across the Nation.

Gen. Yahaya made this known during the opening of the Third Quarter COAS Conference 2022 held in Abuja on Tuesday..

He noted that the energetic actions in the North-East theatre of Operations had continued to scatter the unity of Insurgents resulting in their massive submission which had impacted positively on the Morale of Troops and had strengthened the Confidence of Citizens in the Army.

COAS noted that the recent successful hosting of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) in the South-East also influenced positively on the Security situation in the Geo-Political Zone.

Yahaya stressed the more efforts must be put in place to work towards eradicating Terrorism and Banditry Permanently from the Nation.

COAS explained that in the South- South Region, Troops of Operation Delta Safe are working effortlessly with Joint Operations to arrest many suspects and their Sponsors.

Yahaya noted that concerted efforts are ongoing to ensure that the Nation derive Maximum Revenue from its Oil ventures in the Region.

He also emphasised that the Army has contributed tremendously to maintain the calm Security Situation in the South-West and have to reinforce in collaboration with sister Security Agencies, particularly in the wake of the unfortunate Invasion by terrorists into the Region.

“More successes are envisaged in the Region in the days ahead as concerted efforts are being undertaken to track and apprehend criminals and their sponsors.’’

“Our offensive operations in the Northwest and North Central geo-political zones have also been intensified.’’

“Accordingly, troops in conjunction with the Nigerian Air Force have continued to neutralise bandits and destroy their hideouts in recently-launched onslaughts such as `Operation Desert Sanity.’’

The COAS therefore assured that the Army will continue to perform its roles professionally in collaboration with other Services and Security Agencies as well as with State and Local Government Authorities.
