India teacher allegedly kills student over spelling mistake

The Indian Police Force has declared a teacher wanted for allegedly beating a low-caste student to death over a spelling mistake.
This was disclosed by the Police officers on Tuesday after calming violent protests triggered by the incident.
According to the Police complaint filed by Nikhil Dohre’s father, he was struck with a rod and kicked until he fell unconscious by his high school teacher earlier in September after mis-spelling the word “social” in an exam.
It was reported that Nikhil died from his injuries on Monday, at a hospital in Northern Uttar Pradesh State and the accused teacher had fled the area.
A Police Officer, Mahendra Pratap Singh during an interview with Newsmen said; “He is on the run, but we will arrest him soon.’’
The news of Nikhil’s death erupted into violent protests as he belong to a Dalit community, which is at the lowest ring of India’s caste system and has been subjected to prejudice and discrimination for Centuries.
People came out in their number in Auraiya district, where the incident took place and demanded for the arrest of the teacher before cremating the deceased.
It was reported that a Police Vehicle was set ablaze and a dozen protesters were arrested.
The Superintendent of Police, Charu Nigam during an interview with Newmen said; “We used force to quell the mob and the situation soon came under control.’’
