Governor Ajimobi accompanied to Bodija Market by Cp Mohammed Idanbawa

The oyo state government has re-opened the popular Bodija market in Ibadan North Local government of the state.

The executive governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi re-opened the market today after a town hall meeting with traders in the market.

Governor Ajimobi said that there is no doubt that the death of 14 beans seller led to the recent crisis in Bodija market but the state government has approved the sum of 30 million naira for the families of all the traders that were killed by suspected Boko Haram in Maiduguri.

The governor also promised that all those that lost their property during the last Friday Mayhem will be duely compensated by the state government.

He appealed to all the traders in Bodija market to allow peace and  see themselves  as brothers also to desist from any act that is capable of causing unrest in the market.

Governor Ajimobi also promised the Bodija Market traders that the government in conjunction with the Ibadan North Local Government will begin to renovate the market to ensure that the market has water, electricity, toilet and road road which he said will commence by the first week in September.

CEOafrica reports that Bodija Market traders commended the state government and the state police commissioner CP Mohammed Indabawa for quick and prompt intervention during the last week Friday’s crisis.
