An Interim Management Committee has been set up to manage the affairs of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) by the Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
The IMC will replace the League Management Committee (LMC) which was recently declared illegal by the Ministry.
The licence of the LMC was also withdrawn by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following a directive from the Ministry.
This development is in line with the 10-year Football Master Plan approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, towards the revitalisation of the Domestic League.
The Former Director-General in the Ministry, Gbenga Elegbeleye will serve as the Chairman of the constituted body, while a veteran Journalist and Football administrator, Paul Bassey is the Vice-Chairman..
