The Executive Director, Instistue of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Ibadan, Prof. Veronica A. Obatolu, has lauded the exploits of Nigeria’s past heroes, stating that they shall never be in vain.
In a statement by the researcher, who joins other patriotic Nigerians to celebrate the country’s 62nd independence anniversary today, Saturday, October 1, 2022, Nigeria is a great nation endowed with rich resources—human and otherwise.
She stated that the citizens of this great country are resilient dogged, determined and resourceful.
While congratulating other compatriots, especially members of the institute, she urged the youth to remain focused and shun all forms of social vices to keep the country’s flag flying.
She mentioned Nigeria’s sons and daughters who have made indelible impact including Madam Margaret Ekpo, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Anthony Enahoro, Alh. Sir Ahmadu Bello, Prof. Dora Akunyili, Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile and many others, urging the youths to toe their line.
