President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Adepoju Sunday, as the new Postmaster General/Chief Executive Officer for the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).
The Spokesperson to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Uwa Suleiman, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the appointment was based on the recommendation of the Minister, Prof Isa Pantami.
The statement read in part; “The new Postmaster General of NIPOST, Hon. Adepoju Adeyemi Sunday, is appointed for an initial term of five years.”
It was stated that Adepoju is a professional accountant and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives from 2011 – 2015 and 2015 – 2019, representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency.
CEOAFRICA had earlier reported that the Federal Government, through the Minister of Communications had approved the appointment of Bulus Yakubu as acting Postmaster General of the Federation/CEO, NIPOST.
This was following the suspension of Dr. Ismail Adewusi, who was appointed in 2019.
