The Jigawa State Government has set up two committees to alleviate the effect of flood disasters in the State.
The committees were inaugurated by the State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, on Tuesday at the Gvernment House, Dutse.
The two committees are, the State committee on flood disaster assessment, fundraising and the technical committee on flood mitigation.
The Governor said; “The fundraising committee is saddled with responsibilities of collecting donations and distribution of palliative to the affected flood victims across the state.
“While the technical committee on flood mitigation mandate of proffering permanent solutions to the perennial flooding that ravages Jigawa state.”
The Federal Government, donors and individuals have donated over N500m to the State in flood relief materials.
