Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor of Kano State has presented a N245.3 billion budgetary proposal to the state House of Assembly for the 2023 fiscal year.
The budget is christened Budget for Consolidation and Prosperity II.
The estimates of the budget are over N49 billion above the 2022 budget and it is to be funded through statutory allocation, grants, loans and IGR.
Ganduje had last year presented over N196 billion to the Kano State House of Assembly, for the 2022 fiscal year.
The 2023 proposed appropriation bill has N144.6b as capital expenditure representing 59 percent of the total budget size, while the recurrent expenditure in the proposed bill stood at over N100bn, representing 41 percent of the budget size.
The budgetary appropriations is the last to be presented by Ganduje to the State House of Assembly as he is expected to bow out of office in May 2023.
